Gesso
Gesso is an important art supply to get your canvas ready for painting. You can buy gesso readymade from Art & Craft supply shop. White acrylic paint and gesso are quite similar, however, gesso is thinner.
Gesso is typically white, but these days you can also get ready-made black, clear, and coloured (these link to Blick Art Materials, and if you make a purchase I get a small commission that helps support this site). Additionally, can be tinted to create any hue you like. You may create coloured by simply adding some acrylic paint to the gesso.
