Pastels

Choose either soft pastels, which are chalky and easily blended.  Oil pastels which are slightly sticky consistency and come in bold colours.  Both may be layered and built up using different techniques.

Choose the correct paper to achieve the best results.  Toned paper is a good choice.  Make sure it has a “tooth” or texture so that the colour holds to it.
