Air-drying Clay

Air drying Clay

Modelling with air drying clay results in durable, paintable finished projects once the clay is fully dried and cured.  Suitable for all ages because it is safe, soft and pliable.

How long does it take to dry?

Clay that dries in the air typically needs between 24 and 72 hours to complete the drying process. You might need to wait a little longer for the piece to dry properly for larger projects. It is preferable to let the clay dry naturally rather than rushing the process by placing too near a heat source such as a radiator.

What can you use clay for?

  • Figure models such as people, animals, characters, etc
  • Pinch Pots
  • Coil Bowls
  • Slab builds and models such as buildings, structures, etc.

These are just a few of the sample ideas…you are only limited by your imagination, let your natural artistic juices flow!
